At least 10 people died and 30 others have been injured by explosions at two St Petersburg stations, one at the station Sadovaya and another one at Sennaya Ploshchad station.

There were two explosions at 2:30pm (Russian time) and were caused by explosive material found in the train carriages.

Vladimir Putin, who is in St Petersburg, has sent his condolences to the victims. He said that it was too early to know what caused the explosions, but he pointed out that they could be “possible terror attacks”.
