Currency Solutions for Charity is a fundraising initiative set up by Foreign Exchange Specialist Currency Solutions. The idea is that anyone exchanging currency will generate free donations for a very worthy cause.
Every time a customer uses Currency Solutions to purchase currency, the firm (not the customer) will make a £1 donation to Global Angels, a children’s charity headed up by Molly Bedingfield that acts as an umbrella fundraising mechanism for best-practice children’s projects throughout the world.
In addition to raising cash for a very worthy cause, when using Currency Solutions customers will also save money on their own currency purchase through market-leading exchange rates, which are up to three per cent better than the high street bank or post office.
The scheme isn’t limited to new clients and doesn’t have a minimum requirement so if a client regularly transfers funds abroad, Global Angels will receive a continuous stream of donation from Currency Solutions’ pocket (not the customer’s).
With their administration costs covered by ‘Corporate Angels’ such as Currency Solutions, Global Angels are able to commit every pound they receive from public donation directly to projects working at grass-root levels to empower children and their communities.
Amongst those championing this International Foundation through a range of events, concerts and fundraising campaigns are Molly’s children Natasha and Daniel Bedingfield, Bear Grylls, Ed Bussy and Bonita Norris who recently became the youngest British woman to climb Mt Everest.
Katie McCarthy, Marketing & PR Manager at Currency Solutions said: “By using Currency Solutions for their foreign exchange transfers, private and corporate clients will raise money for this fantastic children’s charity. They will also benefit from market-leading exchange rates, which are up to 3% better than the high street banks and Post Office.”
Molly Bedingfield, CEO of Global Angels said: "In the past, Currency Solutions staff have raised money for Global Angels through in-house staff events including running half marathons and even throwing themselves out of planes. This latest £1 per transaction scheme really is the icing on the cake. Currency Solutions, a ‘Corporate Angel’, has bucked the trend of focusing solely on the bottom line by demonstrating a genuine commitment to the community at large.”
Daniel Bedingfield, Director of Global Angels said: “You'll be donating £1 to help kids no matter how much you choose to change; there's no minimum requirement. If you use the service regularly, Global Angels will get a steady stream of funds (from Currency Solutions pocket, not yours.)"
